So, who needs a small end bearing?
Well, firstly, small end bearings only feature in two stroke engines. They fit between the top of the conrod and the piston. In general, with bigger two strokes (250cc and 300cc) you would always change a small end when doing a piston change. With the smaller bikes (85cc and 125cc) people change them as needed. With the smaller bikes they don't tend to wear as fast but given that they cost so little most people just change them to be safe.
